Job summary

Paycom in Gardena, CA seeks an Application Support Specialist II to ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical business applications. You will lead complex troubleshooting, perform root-cause analysis, and implement improvements across hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP and on‑prem).

Ideal candidates bring strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with 3+ years in relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake) and experience with NoSQL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years related experience OR associate degree with eight (8) years related experience OR High School or equivalent with ten (10+) years related experience.
• Exhibit strong analytical skills with the capability to acquire, retain and leverage advanced technical competencies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service, communication, and project management.
• 3+ years of experience with structured databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake or similar technologies.
• Working knowledge on Oracle forms and web apps.
• Working experience with unstructured databases such as NoSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, or similar.
• Familiarity Regulatory Reporting topics.
• Must have valid California driver’s license and personal vehicle with liability insurance when driving personal vehicle on BHS business.

Responsibilities

• Handle escalated troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Protect data integrity and ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CMIA, CFR).
• Provide advanced technical assistance on electronic health record applications.
• Support provisioning, deploying, administering, monitoring, and maintaining vendor applications.
• Design and refine SQL Server replication topologies for enterprise application distribution.
• Provide expert analysis and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Document complex processes and configurations; prepare guides and tutorials.
• Maintain familiarity with policies and regulations and ensure safety and professionalism.
