Job summary

The City of Abilene Library System seeks a Librarian I – Adult Services at the North Branch to deliver programming and services for adults. Under supervision, this role requires initiative, tact, and strong patron service.

You will plan adult programs, present to groups, collaborate with city departments, and maintain reports. Travel between sites and displays management may be required.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited college is required.
• One year of public library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist library patrons in person, via phone, or electronically with needs.
• Plan, conduct and evaluate library programs for adults (inside and outside the library).
• Plan and deliver presentations to groups on library topics.
• Collaborate with other City departments and branches.
• Maintain reports, records, and statistics; submit monthly activity reports.
