Job summary

Geauga County Public Library in Chesterland, OH is seeking an Adult Services Assistant to provide direct reference and reader’s advisory services to the public, support collection maintenance, and assist with adult programming.

This 20-hour per week, part-time, non-exempt position reports to the Head of Adult Services and requires a Bachelor’s degree, reliable transportation, and successful background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and online resources; ability to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct reference and reader’s advisory service to the public.
• Provide research assistance in person, by phone, and online.
• Help the public locate and obtain library materials.
• Instructs the public in using catalog, internet, computers, databases, and digital resources.
• Create displays of adult materials and assist with adult programs.
