Job summary

Chapel Hill Public Library seeks an Adult Programming & Outreach Coordinator to lead programs and outreach for adults. You will supervise frontline staff, build partnerships with community organizations, and collaborate with the Adult Services Manager to deliver engaging services.

Ideal candidates have MLS or equivalent, 3+ years in public library work with adults, and strong project management skills. Weekend/evening hours and NC driver license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required; MLS preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with adults in a public library setting; program/outreach planning experience preferred.
• Experience supervising a team or department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Model outstanding customer service and contribute to a welcoming environment.
• Coordinate and deploy adult programs and outreach with partners and volunteers.
• Foster relationships with community partners and Town departments.
• Monitor trends in library programming and outreach for adults.
• Assist with staff scheduling, operations, and supervision in the Adult Services Division.
• Contribute to hiring, training, and development of staff.
• Lead library projects and initiatives and participate in Library Management Team.
