Clinton Community College invites applications for the Assistant Learning Skills Coordinator, a professional 10-month role supporting the Learning Skills Coordinator in providing academic support to adult students.

The position focuses on adults aged 25–55, including up to 30 hours of direct tutoring, tutor training, and collaboration with faculty in Reconnect, STRONG, and related programs, with some evening and weekend hours required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Reading, Mathematics, Science, or Computer Science.
• At least one year of tutoring or teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational, and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide up to 30 hours of direct tutorial academic assistance to students.
• Provide training and technical support to tutors.
• Assist faculty in Reconnect affiliated programs by pushing into the classrooms to provide support in the class or lab.
• Support the administration of tutoring center-based initiatives and programs (STRONG, StAR, and Reconnect).
• Visit remedial classes at the beginning of each semester, focusing on classes with Reconnect eligible enrollments, to share information on tutoring services and the STRONG program.
• Administer, tally, and report feedback from students who have received assistance in the tutoring center.
• Administer placement tests as needed.
• Assist Accommodative Services as a proctor when needed.
• Perform other related professional duties as assigned by the Learning Skills Coordinator.
