Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools’ Aspire Adult Education program is hiring an ESL/HS Equivalency instructor to serve adult learners pursuing HSE and English language goals. This role emphasizes engaging instruction, alignment with Aspire standards, and support for career pathways within a collaborative CPS environment.

The ideal candidate will motivate diverse adult learners, leverage LACES, and participate in Ohio Aspire professional development while supporting recruitment and program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience teaching adult learners or diverse populations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer and technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging instruction to adult learners in HSE and ESOL classes.
• Develop and deliver lessons aligned with Ohio Aspire standards.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse adult learners.
• Integrate workforce readiness, digital literacy, and employability skills into instruction.
• Assist students with resume development, interviewing skills, and career planning.
• Support students pursuing Ohio-recognized industry credentials and postsecondary opportunities.
• Administer student assessments and monitor educational progress.
• Maintain attendance, assessment, and student performance records using LACES or similar system.
• Collaborate with staff, workforce partners, colleges, employers, and community organizations.
• Participate in required professional development and Ohio Aspire training.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
• Assist with student recruitment, orientation, intake, and retention efforts.
