Job summary

The Cincinnati State is seeking an Adjunct Instructor for Community English as a Second Language (ESL). In-person classes may be held on the Clifton campus or at partner sites in the service area.

Responsibilities include curriculum development, learner assessment, and coordinating with community partners to ensure accessible language education for adult learners. A bachelor’s degree and teaching experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Teaching or training experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare course materials and lessons based upon department guidelines, learner feedback, and community needs
• Teach ESL to adult learners
• Regularly assess students’ English-language learning needs and goals through in-class engagement and dialogue with learners
• Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting
• Maintain student attendance and performance records as applicable
• Assist with organization, planning, and logistics at community partner sites
• Inform participants about additional learning opportunities at Cincinnati State
• Other duties as assigned
