Job summary

The Parkway School District is seeking an Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) Coordinator to supervise ESL teachers, interview and train staff, conduct site visits, and help place students in the correct classes at Fern Ridge Community Ed.

This 12-month calendar, 32-hour per week, non-exempt position starts at $20.00/hour, with pay depending on experience. Location is Fern Ridge / Community Ed Building with opportunities to contribute to program growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• AEL Certification required (can be obtained after hire)
• Highly self-motivated with the ability to balance multiple priorities
• Proficient with Microsoft software products and Google applications
• Highly detail oriented and organized
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
• Willingness to adjust schedule to observe both morning and evening classes
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Interview and train new ESL teachers
• Conduct site visits and review weekly lesson plans
• Provide recommendations for instructional changes
• Support teachers with curriculum usage
• Test and place students in the correct class
• Assist in locating classroom space as needed and market the ESL program
