Job summary

Wake County Public School System in Cary, NC seeks a Coordinating Teacher-English as a Second Language to support ESL instruction, design professional development, and coordinate language supports across grade levels. The role partners with ESL and other departments, maintains open communication, and helps ensure equitable access to instructional resources.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required; hybrid telework is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, ESL, or related field.
• Three years of ESL teaching experience in a public school setting.
• Experience designing and delivering professional learning.
• Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides supplemental support to ESL teachers to enhance ESL instruction; conducts at least one school visit annually.
• Serves as a liaison between ESL and other WCPSS departments to determine best practices and implement equitable access across grades and subjects.
• Works with the ESL team to design and deliver professional learning for ESL and content-area teachers; reports progress to Senior Administrator and Director of ESL regularly.
• Establishes and maintains open communication with other departments to inform teaching of English learners and curricular supports; participates in district initiatives.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
