Job summary

UF Health Gainesville is seeking a Registered Professional Nurse to identify patient health alterations, assess responses, implement interventions based on nursing theory, and evaluate outcomes to achieve optimal patient care. You will supervise LPNs and UAPs, delegate tasks, and coordinate interdisciplinary care to support the hospital’s mission of excellence in nursing practice and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

• BSN and board certification preferred at time of hire.
• Non-BSN hires must obtain BSN within three years of hire.
• Non-certified hires must obtain certification after two years or per eligibility date.
• Current RN license in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient health alterations and assess responses to health problems.
• Implement nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts and evaluate outcomes.
• Involve patient and family in assessment, planning, and evaluation when possible.
• Supervise/direct care provided by LPNs and UAPs and delegate as needed.
• Coordinate care between disciplines and participate in unit-based activities to promote excellence.
