Job summary

The Wisconsin Bike Fed is seeking a Bicycle Safety Educator and Program Assistant to advance adult education and community outreach across Wisconsin. This full-time role supports planning, scheduling, and promoting courses for residents in Southeast Wisconsin and beyond.

Responsibilities include coordinating class logistics, identifying hosts, promoting registration, teaching when needed, and collaborating with partners to further Bike Fed’s mission. Weekend/evening work is required.

Qualifications

• Experience riding a bicycle for both recreation and transportation.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Zoom for communication and planning.
• Social media and basic graphic design skills for promotion.
• Excellent speaking and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Understanding of multi-modal transportation habits and safety considerations.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Bicycle Safety Educator and Program Assistant

Community Outreach - Program Planning - Teaching

Employment Type: Full Time

Compensation Depending on Experience: $53,000-$57,000

This is your chance to help the residents of southeastern Wisconsin, as well as communities across the state, to learn skills to help improve their safety when riding bicycles. In this role, you would work with the Statewide Adult Education Program Manager to provide support for the planning and execution of adult education classes held in Southeast Wisconsin as well as in other counties as needed. REQUIRED

• Weekend and evening work
• After hire, take the following class–League Cycling Instructor Seminar, November 13, 14, & 15, 2026 in Wausau. Travel expenses and accommodations will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Beneficial

• First Aid, CPR (beneficial, but not required)

• Bicycle maintenance/mechanic skills (beneficial, but not required)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to ride a bicycle 10-30+ miles/day
• Lift and move bicycles and other equipment, 25+ lbs
