Job summary

The State of Wisconsin, Department of Corrections – Division of Juvenile Corrections, seeks a qualified Physical Education Teacher to develop and deliver educational services for male and female youth in custody. Job description

Introduction

The Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Corrections, is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of youth placed in our care. Position Summary

This position will develop and implement a program of educational services specific to the needs of the male and/or female juvenile offender population. The teacher will provide individual and group instruction; will evaluate student progress; and will prescribe necessary remediation and/or academic support services. The teacher will also complete all required documentation related to student assessment and related reports; will evaluate academic records in a timely manner; will monitor and manage student behavior; and will attend relevant institutional staffings/meetings.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 a starting rate of $30.00/hour - $35.06/hour, plus excellent benefits. This position may receive supplemental pay, up to $2.97/hr., for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.

Job Details

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Our teachers work twelve months out of the year.
