Join to apply for the ADULT EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR role at Bridgeport Public Schools.

Bridgeport Public Schools is seeking applicants for a certified teacher for its Adult Education Day program, operating from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. at the Adult Learning Center. This program offers an alternative pathway for students seeking their high school diploma, utilizing self-paced, individualized computer instruction through the Apex Learning Program.

Responsibilities

1. Work with individual students to develop educational experiences aligned with their goals.
2. Serve as a resource for students pursuing personalized learning programs.
3. Meet regularly with students for counseling, encouragement, and evaluation.
4. Employ effective instructional methods and materials to achieve objectives.
5. Be available for conferences outside instructional hours upon request.
6. Assist administration in implementing policies and procedures for student life and classroom success.
7. Attend staff meetings and maintain required reports.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Connecticut state teacher certification with endorsements in Science (030 or 034).
2. Strong literacy background preferred.
3. Proficiency in computer skills.
4. Experience with alternative education programs is advantageous.
5. Experience with online course instruction is a plus.
