Metropolitan Community College is seeking an Adult Education Instructor to teach foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and English language acquisition. The position supports GED prep, postsecondary education, or workforce entry for diverse learners.

Classification Temporary Minimum Pay $19.81. Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.
Adult Education Instructor provides high-quality instruction to adult learners. This role involves teaching foundational skills, such as reading, writing, math, and English language acquisition. Additionally, the role supports learners in preparing for high school equivalency exams (GED), postsecondary education, or entry into the workforce. The ideal candidate is student-focused, culturally responsive, and committed to students' personal and professional growth.

MCC was created in 1974 when the Nebraska State Legislature consolidated the original eight technical community college areas into six. That year, the programs, personnel, assets and liabilities of the former Omaha Nebraska Technical Community College Area merged with the Eastern Nebraska Technical Community College Area under a new name: the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area.
In 1992, the Legislature voted to change the name to Metropolitan Community College Area.
