Job summary

Community LIFE Somerset in Pennsylvania is seeking an Adult Day Center Aide to support seniors with daily living activities, meaningful recreation, and personal care within our day center. You will help participants maintain independence and dignity while coordinating with the care team.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid PA driver’s license with reliable vehicle, and caregiving experience is preferred. Schedule: Mon–Fri 7:30am–4pm, plus 8 weekend hours monthly.

Position Summary: In our Adult Day Center, our Aides are called Program Assistants. Program Assistants are responsible for providing assistance to elderly participants with activities of daily living, recreational activities and performing personal care services in our Adult Day Center and, as needed, their place of residence.

Location: Somerset, PA
Schedule: Mon.-Fri.,7:30am-4pm; plus 8 weekend hours per month

Required Education: High school diploma or GED

Required Licensure: Valid PA Driver's license and reliable vehicle

Required Experience: Caregiving experience is preferred.

Required Skills:

• Discretion, tact, patience, and good judgment.
• Empathetic and compassionate attitude in caring for the elderly.
• Ability to understand and carry out non-technical verbal and written directions, record messages, and keep records.
• Ability to get along well with others and gain the cooperation of the participants.

• Routine work involving the personal care and program activities of participants.
