Job summary

National Assemblers, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee multi-state payroll operations ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will lead end-to-end processing, manage data import from several systems, and coach the payroll team to strengthen controls and processes. The ideal candidate has extensive ADP Workforce Now experience, advanced Excel skills, and a proactive, detail‑driven approach to resolve issues before payroll runs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including complex payroll processing.
• 2+ years leading payroll teams or managing staff.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience managing multi-state payroll.
• Strong knowledge of wage-and-hour rules (FLSA).
• Advanced Excel for large data sets reconciliation.
• Experience importing payroll data from multiple systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to establish controls and verify payroll accuracy.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state workforce with accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare, reconcile, validate, and import payroll data from multiple systems.
• Handle piece-rate pay, minimum wage guarantees, overtime, and other earnings.
• Perform pre- and post-payroll audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Research payroll issues, identify root causes, and implement corrections.
• Maintain payroll controls, reconciliations, documentation, and SOPs.
• Serve as payroll SME for ADP Workforce Now including reporting and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage-and-hour requirements.
• Maintain payroll records and support audits and information requests.
• Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team; build cross-training and docs.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Operations to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Respond to employee payroll concerns with accuracy and urgency.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
