Job summary

City of Maypearl, TX, seeks an Animal Services Coordinator to oversee adoption and rescue-placement efforts under the Animal Services Manager. You will build relationships with rescue and foster partners, counsel prospective adopters, promote available animals, and coordinate adoption events and transfers.

You will lead volunteers and shelter staff, maintain placement records, support animal care and shelter operations, and ensure compliance with laws and city policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in animal sheltering, animal care, rescue coordination, veterinary services, or a related field.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate animal adoption and rescue-placement activities to increase live outcomes and reduce length of stay.
• Develop relationships with rescue and foster organizations, counsel prospective adopters, promote available animals, and coordinate adoption events and transfers.
• Provide lead direction to volunteers, community service workers, and shelter attendants and assist with animal care and shelter operations as needed.
• Maintain accurate placement records and ensure compliance with city policies and procedures.
