Job summary

City of Cleburne seeks an Animal Services Coordinator to improve live outcomes for adopted animals. You will coordinate adoptions, work with rescue and foster partners, counsel adopters, promote animals, and manage events and transfers to reduce length of stay.

You will maintain placement records, lead volunteers, and assist with shelter operations as needed, reporting to the Animal Services Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience in animal sheltering, animal care, rescue coordination, veterinary services, or a related field; or
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• A valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
• Required to complete assigned Public Information training and any other mandatory training in accordance with City policies and established deadlines

Responsibilities

• Coordinate animal adoption and rescue-placement activities to increase live outcomes and reduce length of stay.
• Develop relationships with rescue and foster organizations, counsels adopters, promotes available animals, coordinates adoption events and transfers.
• Maintain accurate placement records and assist with shelter operations as needed.
• Provide lead direction to volunteers, community service workers, and shelter attendants.
