Job summary

Texans Together is seeking an Adoption Preparation Specialist to support children in achieving safe, stable, and permanent adoptive placements. You will work with children, prospective families, agencies, and legal parties to address separation, attachment, and transition needs.

The role involves coordinating services, preparing reports for court, and ensuring timely documentation while traveling regionally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may substitute.
• Experience providing permanency case management for PMC.

Responsibilities

• Assess a child’s readiness for adoption and explain adoption concepts to children.
• Assist children in processing grief, trauma, and attachment issues related to placement.
• Identify child needs, strengths, and permanency goals.
• Develop adoption-related information to support matching activities.
• Provide permanency planning and recruitment activities for caseloads.
