Job summary

Texans Together seeks a Permanency Specialist to support children and families in the CPS process, focusing on permanency planning, kinship resources, and court-related tasks. The role involves coordinating services, conducting kinship studies, and advocating for safe, stable care.

You will visit monthly, prepare court documents, collaborate with partners, and ensure timely case updates. This home-based position requires strong communication, trauma-informed approach, and ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum one year CPS/CPI/DFPS case management experience.
• Experience in government or nonprofit child protection settings.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and interviewing children and families.

Responsibilities

• Receive cases from investigators after removals and placement in care.
• Determine needs and refer for testing, evaluations, records, or assessments.
• Plan permanency with children, families, and communities.
• Identify kinship resources and conduct kinship home studies.
• Meet with parents to assess safety and connect to services.
• Attend court hearings and provide testimony as needed.
• Maintain case documentation and coordinate with partners.
