Qualifications

  • Strong assessment, interviewing, and report-writing skills to evaluate home environments and document findings clearly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities to work with diverse families and partners.
  • Detail-oriented organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing adoption; willingness to stay current on policy and best practices.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, exercise sound judgment, and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • MSW degree is required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel within Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, review, and oversee adoption home studies.
  • Collaborate with adoptive families, contract social workers, and adoption agencies to ensure requirements are met.
  • Ensure home study requirements are completed accurately and in compliance with regulations.
  • Advocate for adoptive families throughout the adoption process.
