Job summary

Holt International seeks a Part-time Adoption Social Worker to operate largely from home with travel across the state to support adoptive families. You will conduct home studies, provide counseling, and coordinate services through Holt’s network.

Requirements include a Master’s in social work (or related field), five years in social services, state licensing where applicable, and strong psycho-social assessment and writing skills. Travel is a regular expectation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Five years experience in a social service setting.
• State license, where applicable.
• Proven psycho-social assessment skills.
• Excellent writing and computer skills.
• Cross-cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

• Determines a family’s ability and capacity to parent an adopted child.
• Produces home studies and post-placement reports meeting guidelines and requirements.
• Provides support and case management with quarterly contacts.
• Prepares families for travel and assists with post-placement adjustment.
• Assists in crisis situations and ensures the child and family well-being.
• Represents Holt at meetings and outreach activities.
