Job summary

Heritage Specialty Care in Cedar Rapids, IA, is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON - RN) to lead and advance resident care. This 171-bed long-term care community offers a collaborative leadership framework focused on compassionate, person-centered care for residents and staff development.

In this role you will assist the DON, monitor care delivery, coach RNs, ensure regulatory compliance, and help foster an engaging culture.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal/state long-term care regulations.
• Desire to learn and grow within a quality focused clinical team.
• Empathy, respect, patience and discretion in care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the nursing department.
• Conduct rounds to monitor care delivery and propose improvements.
• Enforce policies and guide the team.
• Coach RNs to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Manage administrative functions to improve department efficiency.
• Communicate care needs with residents and families.
• Document care to meet regulatory standards.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in on-call rotation with leadership.
