Job summary

WesleyLife in Pella, IA is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), RN to lead nursing services in our long-term care and skilled settings. You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure compassionate, high-quality resident care and compliance.

The role emphasizes training, staffing oversight, infection control, surveys, and continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on leadership, organization, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in the State of Iowa, graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting.
• Knowledgeable of state and federal regulations, quality assurance, compliance, and clinical practices.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills to develop/supervise nursing personnel in a team environment.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and skilled in effective delegation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the DON for overall nursing leadership within our Long-Term Care and Skilled households.
• Provide ongoing training, support and supervision to employees.
• Assist in the evaluation of the health care services needed for each resident.
• Assist with oversite of staffing schedules.
• Schedule and conduct in-service meetings for staff.
• Prepare and participate in surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies.
• Partner with the DON for nursing operation efficiencies.
• Oversee infection control program and reporting.
• Communicate with physicians, family members, etc. regarding resident status as appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Audit skills of nursing staff.
