Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Management is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Nursing by coordinating licensed and non-licensed staff to ensure high-quality resident care. The ADON will oversee safety, infection control, and staff development, and act as DON in their absence.

Responsibilities include surveillance, record-keeping, committee reporting, and staff orientation and training.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in Minnesota with knowledge and interest in safety, infection prevention, disaster preparedness, and teaching staff.
• Basic computer skills (or willingness to learn); flexibility in working hours; ability to work independently; perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.
• Preferred experience in healthcare or skilled nursing; ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to feedback, and maintain composure under pressure.
• Strong emotional intelligence, ability to build trust, active listening skills, clear verbal and written English communication, and comfort working with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct licensed and non-licensed staff to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Act as the acting DON in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
• Oversee occupational health and staff development functions, including infection control, employee injury management, and worker health programs.
• Coordinate orientation, hands-on training, competency evaluations, preceptorships and in-house education.
• Support safety programs and participate in policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist with resident and family engagement and provide nursing care when needed.
