Job summary

Johnson Memorial Health Services is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Director of Senior Living Services in leadership and daily operations of the Care Center. You will supervise nursing staff, promote resident-centered care, and ensure compliance with long-term care requirements.

In this role, you will assist with regulatory readiness, staffing, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while maintaining resident safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Minnesota is required.
• 3–5 years of clinical or long-term care experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with Point Click Care and EPIC is preferred.
• Knowledge of gerontological nursing, Medicare, and Minnesota/federal long-term care regulations.
• Strong clinical judgment and leadership, plus solid verbal and written communication, organization, and time management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Senior Living Services and CEO with clinical operations and regulatory readiness.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate nursing staff; address performance and attendance concerns and coordinate corrective action.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and annual performance evaluations; oversee nursing orientation and competency validation.
• Provide leadership to charge nurses, delegate duties, uphold chain of command, and escalate significant concerns to leadership.
• Collaborate with MDS, care coordination, and resident/family care conferences; ensure coverage during absences.
• Assist with staffing needs, scheduling, and nursing coverage; maintain resident-centered care and teamwork.
