Winchester Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team in Winchester, VA. The ADON will support the Director of Nursing, oversee nursing operations, and ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Prior nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staff.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to work with residents, families, staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Compassionate, professional and resident-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with overall management and coordination of nursing services.
• Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care.
• Supervise nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Assist with staff scheduling and daily nursing operations.
• Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff.
• Monitor resident care and ensure services follow care plans and policies.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
• Review incidents and implement follow-up.
• Participate in surveys, audits and regulatory activities.
• Review medical records and ensure documentation is timely.
• Ensure compliance with regulations.
• Participate in staff education, orientation, training and competency programs.
• Promote teamwork and communication with residents, families and physicians.
