Winchester Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations, support clinical staff, promote quality resident care, and help ensure the facility meets all regulatory and clinical standards.

Assist the Director of Nursing with the overall management and coordination of nursing services.
Help ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
Support and supervise nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
Assist with staff scheduling, staffing needs, and daily nursing operations.
Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff.
Monitor resident care and ensure nursing services are provided according to care plans and facility policies.
Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
Monitor infection prevention and control practices.
Assist with reviewing incidents, identifying concerns, and implementing appropriate follow-up.
Participate in surveys, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
Assist with reviewing medical records and ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
Participate in staff education, orientation, training, and competency programs.
Promote teamwork and effective communication between nursing, residents, families, physicians, and other departments.
Assist with addressing resident and family concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Serve as a nursing leader and resource for staff throughout the facility.
Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing as needed.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Previous nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and quality standards.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staff.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
