Job summary

Avery's House in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Adolescent Therapist to support our residential program and help teens achieve wellness. You will provide direct services including individual and group therapy, conduct assessments, and maintain thorough client records in a compassionate, HIPAA-compliant manner.

Qualified candidates hold an active Arizona licensure (AZBBHE) and a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field, with at least one year of experience in youth counseling and

Qualifications

• Active AZ licensure (AZBBHE) is required.
• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field is required.
• At least 1 year of counseling and case management experience with mental health and substance use clients.
• Proficiency with standard PC software (word processing, email, video conferencing, spreadsheets).
• Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications, common side effects, and adverse reactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services: individual and group therapy.
• Conduct assessments or screenings to develop treatment plans.
• Maintain client records and complete required paperwork (progress notes, event notifications, discharge plans).
• Coordinate care and crisis management as needed.
• Communicate effectively with the treatment team and maintain a safe environment.
• Provide teletherapy when appropriate for clients.

As part of our clinical team, you'll be instrumental in supporting our residential program and helping clients achieve wellness. Adolescent Therapist Qualifications

• Current mental health licensure in Arizona with the AZBBHE. (required)
• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. (required)
• One year of experience in counseling and case management with mental health and substance abuse clients. (required)
• Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use, including word processing, video conferencing, email, and spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated competence with cultural differences and diversity.
• Knowledge of medications commonly prescribed for mental health disorders, common side effects, and adverse reactions.

Adolescent Therapist Expectations

• Provide direct support services, including individual and group therapy.
• Conduct assessments or screenings to develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintain client records and complete all required paperwork, including progress notes, event notifications, and discharge plans.
• Facilitate coordination of care and crisis management.
• Communicate effectively with the treatment team and maintain a safe and efficient treatment environment.
• Provide services via teletherapy when determined appropriate for clients.
• Maintain ethical and professional standards, including the confidentiality of all client data (HIPAA).

SCHEDULE

• Tuesday - Saturday 9am - 5pm
• Required on call rotation once every 5 weeks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00
