Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Mental Health Worker I for the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital, providing direct care in a 3rd shift inpatient setting. The role includes ADL support, vital sign checks, and collaboration with the treatment team to implement rehabilitation plans.

Candidates participate in safety monitoring, de-escalation, and trauma-informed care while supporting patients in achieving recovery goals and maintaining accurate records within a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the English Language.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral expression.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely, expressing thoughts clearly and logically.
• Ability to gather information through observing and questioning individuals.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to establish rapport with diverse individuals.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and assist in ADL activities as needed.
• Take and report vital signs as instructed.
• Accompany persons served to appointments and treatment areas.
• Conduct observations including 5, 15, 30-minute checks and 1:1 or constant observation.
• Participate in Treatment and Recovery Plan interventions with the team.
• Discuss goals and needs at Treatment Team meetings and shift reports.
• Encourage participation in leisure activities to boost social skills.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment through observation and communication.
• Review safety plans and communicate changes to supervision.
• Complete admissions forms and document priority information for care.
