Job summary

Aster Springs in Glen Allen, VA, is seeking an experienced nurse to join the adolescent program on a full-time day shift. You will assess, treat, and document the medical and behavioral health needs of young clients in recovery.

You'll take physician orders, administer medications, coordinate with the treatment team, and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment. Virginia RN license and 1 year in behavioral health preferred; associate or bachelor degree in nursing required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program; Virginia license.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in behavioral healthcare, preferably with adolescents.
• Psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments identifying medical needs and limitations.
• Transcribe physician orders and manage STAT orders.
• Document medication administration and ensure accurate charting.
• Coordinate pharmacy and lab orders, deliveries, and refills.
• Maintain security of controlled medications and verify proper use.
