Job summary

Aster Springs in Virginia seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for night shifts in our behavioral health facility to support clients and care teams.

The role requires an active VA RN license and at least 1 year in behavioral health; psychiatric nursing experience is preferred. You will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and document care in the electronic chart.

CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 15 days; valid driver’s license may be required. EOE.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license required.
• Minimum 1 year of behavioral healthcare experience.
• Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive nursing assessments identifying medical needs and limitations.
• Records and transcribes physician orders, administering medications as directed.
• Communicates observations and contributes to the plan of care with the treatment team.
• Coordinates pharmacy and laboratory orders; ensures secure storage of controlled substances.
• Documents nursing assessments and daily notes in the electronic charting system.
• Prepares clients for discharge with clear medication instructions.
