Job summary

Aster Springs is seeking a Nurse for the adolescent program to perform comprehensive nursing assessments, administer medications, and coordinate medical services. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to provide a safe, therapeutic environment.

The role requires an associates or bachelor’s degree in nursing with current licensure and at least 1 year in behavioral health; psychiatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, preferably with eating disorders.
• Psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and document findings.
• Transcribe physician orders and administer medications.
• Coordinate pharmacy and laboratory orders and sample collection.
• Maintain secure storage of controlled medications and charting.
• Prepare clients for discharge with medication instructions.
• Provide medication education to clients and families.
• Assist admissions, transfers, discharges to ensure smooth flow.
