Vernon Rehabilitation and HCC is seeking a full-time RN to assist in leading our team of nurses and certified nurse aides.

This vital role requires an individual with experience, education, dedication, and drive. The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility for off-shift hours and on-call responsibilities.

Requirements:

1. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Connecticut.
2. Minimum of three years of education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and at least one year of nursing services administration.
3. CPR certification.
4. Understanding of responsibilities concerning infection control, safety, accident, and fire prevention.
5. Ability to read, write, and comprehend English; capable of following oral and written instructions.
6. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
7. Proficiency in word processing (including Microsoft Office) and other office equipment.
8. Ability to work scheduled hours based on the position's requirements.
9. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Unit Managers, RN Supervisors, and Charge Nurses (RN/LPN) to ensure effective performance of duties.
• Act as a liaison between the Director of Nursing Services and nursing staff.
• Serve as a resource in all resident care areas.
• Ensure staffing needs and schedules are met.
• Assist in interpreting and implementing nursing policies.
• Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
• Assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing Services in their absence.
• Serve as the Medicare Coordinator.
• Oversee the Quality Assurance Program for the Nursing Department.
• Perform other duties and attend meetings as required by the Administrator or Director.
