Job summary

The University of Kansas is seeking an Admissions Visit and Event Specialist to coordinate on- and off-campus recruitment events, provide high-touch outreach to prospective students and families during campus visits, and ensure an exceptional visit experience that supports yield goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED equivalency and 4 years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree in communications, Public Relations, Education, or relevant field and 2 years of experience OR a Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Education, or relevant field.
• Experience in public speaking or giving presentations in academic, volunteer, or professional settings as evidenced by application materials.
• Effective communication skills evidenced by application materials.
• Project management and organization skills evidenced by application materials.
• Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) evidenced by application materials.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement on-campus and off-campus events as determined by the Assistant and Associate Director of Campus Visits and Events.
• Develop event timelines, manage logistics (space, catering, technology), and collaborate with KU partners on programming and staffing; partner with the KU ambassador program.
• Create event registration forms, pre- and post-event communications, and track registrations within admissions CRM (Slate) for specific admissions events.
• Conduct program evaluation and incorporate feedback to enhance future programming.
• Assist with coordination and/or creation of agendas, presentations, etc. to ensure visit and event preparation is complete.
• Event budget management and submission of event expenses.
• Build content in event portals and Guidebook for presentations and visits.
• Coordination of personalized prospective student visit experiences, including Saturday tours and visits outside the traditional daily visit.
