Job summary

Texas Health Kaufman is seeking an Admissions Specialist in the Admitting department to greet patients, collect demographics, and verify insurance and pre-certifications. You’ll support the care team to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate documentation.

Role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service, and familiarity with healthcare processes. The team offers a collaborative environment and opportunities for growth in a busy ER/outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience is required.
• 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience is preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire is preferred.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 90 Days is required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, setting a calm tone for the visit.
• Gather complete demographic information for EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/verify benefits and pre-certifications.
• Educate patients on legal, ethical, and consent documents.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN and Non-Coverage checks are completed correctly.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and internal policies.
