Job summary

Texoma Medical Center is seeking an Admissions Clerk to support Pre-Admission and Admission services. You will verify patient identity, enter accurate data into the EMR, and collect financial and insurance information at the point of care.

You will obtain authorizations, calculate co-pays and deductibles, secure necessary signatures, and inform patients about their rights and Advance Care Directives. This role supports a high-volume hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Reading and numerical competency.
• Minimum of 6 months general public contact, in person or by phone, preferably in a healthcare setting or healthcare insurance setting.
• Ability to interact with co-workers and other departments; possess good listening, verbal and written communication skills; handle high stress situations.
• Must be able to handle detail work accurately and rapidly; interact effectively with colleagues; demonstrate professionalism and empathy.
• Basic computer and internet experience; comfortable navigating EMR systems and online forms.

Responsibilities

• Perform Pre-Admission and Admission processing for patients in all hospital areas.
• Identify patients correctly and maintain accurate information within the EMR.
• Collect financial information including payments from patients/guarantors.
• Obtain insurance information, benefits and obtain authorizations for services.
• Obtain medical and financial consents and secure required signatures; communicate patient rights and Advance Care Directives.
