Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Michigan.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
• 2 years of psychiatric clinical experience preferred.
• Must present proof of COVID-19 vaccination or qualify for exemption on medical/religious grounds.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates professional attitude with patients, families, and staff during admissions.
• Provides support to ease patient anxiety during admissions.
• Documents patient medical history and findings as part of assessment and admissions process.
• Accompanies patient to the unit and assists with transition to the floor.
• Handles admissions process efficiently despite interruptions and time constraints.
• Maintains knowledge of nursing laws, hospital policies, and procedures.
• Manages crisis calls, makes referrals, and completes assessments as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
