Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility serving children, adolescents and adults. We are seeking a Psych RN for the Weekend Nights shift in a part-time, 24-hour weekly role (12-hour shifts 7:00am–7:30pm).

The RN provides nursing care on assigned units, fostering a safe, therapeutic milieu for patients with mood, anxiety, trauma, and dual diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• 6–12 months of psych nursing preferred.
• Current Michigan RN licensure.
• Clinical competency in general nursing care; psych theory understood.
• CPR/Handle With Care certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process on assigned units.
• Lead and support staff; assist during crises.
• Develop initial nursing treatment plans for admissions.
• Care for patients with co-occurring disorders, trauma, eating disorders.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu and assist with discharge planning.
