Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is seeking an Admissions Review Specialist to join our Corporate Admissions team. You will review referrals and clinical records to determine the appropriate level of care and work with Admissions Coordinators to streamline the admissions process.

You will assess medical, psychiatric, and substance use histories, collaborate across facility leadership and clinical teams, and ensure compliant, timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing clinical documentation and medical records.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, behavioral health diagnoses, substance use disorders, and clinical presentation.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred; Associate's degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with ASAM Criteria preferred.
• Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

Avenues Recovery is seeking an Admissions Review Specialist to join our Corporate Admissions team.

This role is responsible for reviewing clinical referrals for individuals seeking substance use treatment, assessing medical and behavioral health documentation, and determining the appropriate level of care. The Admissions Review Specialist works closely with Admissions Coordinators, facility clinical teams, and referral sources to ensure timely, accurate clinical decision-making and a seamless admissions process.
