Job summary

Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary is seeking an Admissions Representative to support the Enrollment Management team. The role focuses on calling and meeting prospective students, guiding them through admissions and financial aid, and coordinating campus visits.

You will conduct tours, assist with events, and handle administrative tasks, phone and email inquiries, and other duties with a team-driven mindset. A Christian commitment and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Christian with high integrity, pursuing relationship with God
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred
  • Part-time or full-time experience in higher education, customer service, and/or sales
  • Intermediate to expert skill with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
  • Able to take initiative to complete duties without direct supervision
  • Able to learn and utilize new skills to improve job performance
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Displays a positive attitude
  • Shows a desire and willingness to learn
  • Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Reports to: Admissions Counselor and Director of Admissions

Department: Enrollment Management: Admissions

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

Job Purpose

The Enrollment Management department exists to recruit and retain students. Admissions Representatives contribute to this mission by being on the front lines of interaction with future students regarding admissions processes.

Essential Functions

Call Center
  • Communicate with prospective students during the recruitment process
  • Provide communication and customer service to prospective students via phone, text, email, social media, and printed material
  • Answer basic questions regarding the admissions process, financial aid, and campus life
Campus Visits
  • Conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families
Admissions Initiatives
  • Assist the Director and office in all related duties as needed
  • Assist with Admissions administrative tasks including but not limited to answering telephones, printing, mailing, and organizing materials
  • Assist in planning and executing Admissions department projects and events
  • Assist in larger Enrollment Management initiatives such as on-campus events

Requirements

Working Conditions

  • Monday through Friday, with hours scheduled between 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • Travel as needed to conferences and events during a variety of days and times
  • Walking around campus for approx.. 3 hours at a time
  • Constructing booth spaces at recruiting events
  • Shared office environment
  • Moving boxes and other small items (10-20 lbs) or moving larger cases and items on wheels (40-50 lbs)
