Job summary

Tyler Junior College in Texas is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to guide prospective students from inquiry to enrollment. The role involves high school outreach, campus presentations, and coordinating admissions applications, FAFSA steps, and scholarships with campus offices.

You will build relationships with high school staff, lead tours, assist with events, and represent the college at fairs and conferences while maintaining FERPA-compliant handling of confidential information.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a related field.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Admissions experience and/or experience working with students on a university or college campus as an orientation or peer advisor, resident assistant, student ambassador, or with other student service-oriented departments or organizations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid deadlines and experience informing students and parents of awards and programs available.

Responsibilities

• Recruit students from assigned high schools/territory and plan outreach activities.
• Coordinate general high school and student outreach, including scheduling, reporting, and assessment.
• Advise prospective students through the admission process from inquiry to admitted stage, including FAFSA and scholarships.
• Communicate with prospective students and families via in-person, phone, email, text, print, and online channels.
• Conduct presentations on college experiences and admissions processes at TJC.
• Represent the College at career fairs, conferences, and trade shows.
• Work with financial aid, advising, registrar, and other offices for smooth applicant-to-student transitions.
• Maintain knowledge of degree/certificate programs, requirements, policies, and general information about TJC.
• Handle confidential information with tact and FERPA compliance.
• Assist with events (preview day, orientation, awards) and campus tours.
