Position Description
The Admissions Evaluator – Credential Evaluations reports to the Senior Associate Director of Operations and is responsible for reviewing and evaluating transcripts for transferable credit, calculating cumulative and major GPAs, confirming prerequisite courses, determining course equivalencies, and posting equivalencies and class standing in the University’s ERP and CRM systems (Colleague and Slate). The evaluator serves as an academic policy resource for incoming freshmen and transfer students, acts as key contact for academic liaisons on policy matters, responds to prospective student inquiries, and assists in maintaining data and applicant record cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Carefully reviews and evaluates transcripts for transferable credit and calculates cumulative GPAs for admitted students.
- Confirms prerequisite courses are fulfilled and/or in progress and calculates major GPAs.
- Determines course equivalencies and applies applicants’ previous coursework toward Seattle University’s degree requirements, posting appropriate equivalencies and current class standing in Colleague and Slate.
- Serves as an academic policy resource for incoming freshmen and transfer students regarding University Core and major transfer requirements for all undergraduate degrees.
- Key contact for academic liaisons throughout the University on academic policy matters related to the onboarding of undergraduate students with transferable credit.
- Responds to inquiries from prospective students, explaining completed evaluations and providing information on university transfer policies to help meet annual undergraduate enrollment goals.
- Adds course equivalencies to the online TES database system and assists in developing tools/resources for best practices in communicating transfer course equivalencies to prospective transfers.
- Assists in maintaining data and applicant/record cleanliness—editing records, auditing, scanning and assigning documents, and exporting data for mass corrections—in collaboration with the Admissions Operations team and Research and Analytics.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the university's mission, vision, and values.
- One or more years of experience in customer service and detailed data entry—preferably in an educational environment involving credential evaluation, academic advising, or transfer evaluation.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Resilient and innovative problem solver with excellent organizational skills, acute attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with campus partners and providing personalized attention to prospective students.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment to make informed decisions based on experience, reason, and policy while considering equity, fairness, and historical precedent.
- Skilled at managing and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague and CRM experience—specifically Slate.
- Familiarity with Transfer Evaluation System (TES).
Compensation
Salary Range: $45,000 - $48,000.
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate’s gender or any other protected status.
