Job summary

Excelcare Newark is seeking a dynamic Admissions Director to lead and grow our census in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role balances relationship-building, compliance, and occupancy goals while coordinating with families, hospitals, and referral partners.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in healthcare admissions or marketing, strong Medicare/Medicaid knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills. EMR familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in admissions or marketing within a skilled nursing or healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with EMR systems and admissions tracking tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the admissions process from inquiry to intake.
• Serve as the main point of contact for families, hospitals, and referral partners.
• Conduct pre-admission assessments and ensure clinical appropriateness.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and social work teams to support seamless transitions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all admissions activity.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local hospitals, case managers, and community organizations.
• Monitor census trends and contribute to strategic planning for occupancy goals.
• Represent the facility professionally in outreach and marketing efforts.
