Job summary

Malvern Health in Philadelphia seeks a full-time Admissions Counselor II to support admissions at the Malvern Treatment Center. The role involves telephonic and in-person risk assessment, crisis intervention, and coordinating referrals and intake from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with every other weekend shifts.

The position requires a Master’s degree or RN/MSW credentials, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to navigate EMR systems, billing, and interdepartmental

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services, or RN license, or MSW
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Ability to adapt to changing workload and emergencies with professionalism

Responsibilities

• Provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention
• Coordinates referral and intake process; handles eligibility determination
• Completes required data entry in EMR and documents care history
• Obtains insurance authorizations and relays information to billing/utilization management
• Coordinates admission process and communicates with referral sources, families and staff
• Assists Physician with face-to-face assessments and psychosocial information
