Job summary

Malvern Health is seeking a part-time Admissions Counselor II to work at our Willow Grove campus. The role involves telephonic and in-person risk assessment, crisis intervention, and coordinating the referral and intake process.

You will complete data entry in the EMR, obtain insurance authorizations, and communicate with referral sources, families, patients and staff. A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services, or equivalent licensure, is required; MS Office and EMR

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field.
• Licensed RN or Masters in Social Work.
• Experience in risk assessment and crisis intervention preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and assesses patients on admission and throughout treatment, with bio-psycho-social documentation.
• Responds to emergencies and directs appropriate actions.
• Greets patients and families, explains admissions process and services.
• Completes intake forms and enters data into EMR accurately.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and relays information to billing/utilization.
• Communicates clinical information for unit hand-offs and coordination with teams.
