Job summary

The role supports student success from intake through enrollment and retention, with a focus on outreach to schools and agencies. The ideal candidate holds an Associate of Arts degree with at least three years of administrative support experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for counseling and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive applicant screenings to determine eligibility and suitability.
  • Review behavioral, medical, and educational records to support enrollment decisions.
  • Provide career counseling throughout the admissions process.
  • Coordinate center tours, pre-arrival visits, and parent meetings.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community agencies and schools.
  • Communicate with leadership and stakeholders to ensure smooth enrollment processes.

In this role, you'll guide prospective students through the admissions process, build strong community partnerships, and play a key role in supporting student success from the very beginning of their Job Corps journey.If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your work makes a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.QualificationsRequired:Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution.Minimum of three (3) years of auditing and/or administrative support experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer literacy.Preferred:Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.May supervise assigned Work-Based Learning (WBL) students.Key ResponsibilitiesAdmissions & Student SuccessConduct comprehensive applicant screenings to determine eligibility and suitability for the Job Corps Program.Review and evaluate behavioral, medical, and educational records to support enrollment decisions.Conduct career assessments and provide counseling throughout the admissions process.Make enrollment determinations and, when appropriate, refer applicants to alternative educational resources.Partner with Center staff to ensure a seamless enrollment experience and support early student retention.Coordinate and facilitate Center tours, pre-arrival visits, and parent meetings.Community Outreach & PartnershipsBuild and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, employment services, high schools, trade schools, technical schools, and other organizations.Serve as a liaison between the Job Corps Center and community partners to strengthen referral networks.Promote the Job Corps Program within the community to attract prospective students.Collaboration & CommunicationCommunicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.Share relevant information in a timely manner with the Department of Labor (DOL), Company leadership, and internal stakeholders as requested.Analyze challenges, recommend effective solutions, and follow through to ensure successful resolution.Collaborate with staff across all departments to provide coordinated support and services for students.Professional ExpectationsApply job knowledge effectively to fulfill all assigned responsibilities.Continuously develop the skills necessary to perform assigned duties successfully.Accept direction from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including temporary assignments supporting other departments or positions.Perform other duties as assigned.Why You'll Make an ImpactAs an Admissions Counselor, you'll be one of the first people prospective students meet on their educational journey.
