Job summary

Adams And Associates Inc. seeks a Dormitory Supervisor to guide students toward a positive living environment at the Job Corps center in Drums, PA. You will oversee dorm operations, promote safety, and model professional behavior for residents.

You will provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills; coordinate with counselors; maintain student files; and support career development services while enforcing Zero Tolerance and center policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year Job Corps or related program experience preferred.
• Valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living.
• Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselors.
• Assist in unit activities and monitor dormitories to ensure safety.
• Prepare daily operations reports and administrative correspondence.
• Direct students and assist in dorm cleanup and maintenance.
• Recommend or requisition supplies for dorm living and safety.
• Maintain dormitory and student files with required documentation.
• Enter student case notes in the center information system.
• Participate in career development services and promote safe living environments.
• Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills.
• Work overtime as directed; maintain regular attendance.
• Provide positive customer service to students and staff; enforce policies.

POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for providing proper guidance to students to ensure positive group living relations and achievement in the Job Corps program.MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISIONN/ARESPONSIBILITIESo Provide guidance for students to achieve a positive attitude and proper behavior in dormitory living situation and to accomplish their goals and objectives.o Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselor.o Assist in unit activities, as designated, including unit government.o Patrol and monitor dormitories and center as required ensuring safety and proper behavior of students; resolve potential or occurring problems.o Prepare the daily operations report, pass list, and other administrative correspondence relating to students.o Direct students and assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.o Recommend or requisition supplies to provide needs for dorm living and safety of students.o Maintain dormitory and individual student files; ensure files are complete, updated and contain all required documentation.o Enter student case notes in the center information system.o Participate in career development services system by ensuring a safe living environment and creating positive peer leadership role modeling techniques within the dorm.o Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions and independent living skills.o It is expected the incumbent will work overtime when directed to do so.o Regular and predictable attendance is required.o Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.o Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.o Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.o Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching.
