Job summary

Valley Rehab & Nursing Center in Chilhowie, VA is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to guide patients and families through the admission process, ensuring clear communication and a positive transition from acute to post-acute care.

You’ll coordinate with insurance providers, prepare rooms and supplies, protect patient privacy under HIPAA, and uphold outstanding customer service standards while working closely with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients and families by proactively welcoming them to the center and answering service related (non-clinical) questions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure clear understanding of admission procedures, requirements, and expectations.
• Help guide patients and families through the admissions process, explaining paperwork, consent forms, and other important information.
• Ensure patient rooms and supplies are fully prepared for new admissions.
• Communicate with insurance providers to obtain initial and extensions of authorization for services.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Be the customer service champion for the center and ensure customer service standards are consistently upheld in all aspects of daily operation.
• Respond in timely manner to service concerns and escalations.
