Job summary

The Springs Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Texas is seeking an Admissions Coordinator to promote census goals by building partnerships with external clients and families served by the community's interdisciplinary team.

The role involves liaising with hospitals, physicians, insurers, and case management firms, gathering pre-admission data, and developing sales/marketing plans to ensure appropriate level of care and bed occupancy.

Qualifications

• An associate degree in a business related field or 2+ years of experience in long-term care admissions.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in health care sales, marketing, insurance or commensurate education.
• Professional demeanor as you are the first face of the community.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the facility and the outside community.
• Connect daily with potential referral sources including hospitals, physicians, insurers, case management companies and health care agencies.
• Gather pre-admission data to determine resident level of care and ability of the Community to care for the resident; create and execute facility sales and marketing plans.
• Conduct facility tours for potential guests and families.
• Conduct admission screenings of potential guests; determine level of care, services required, equipment needs and insurance coverage as needed.
• Welcome guest and family upon admission.
• Interview potential residents and residents’ representatives to collect accurate data.
• Complete pre-admission and admission inquiry forms accurately.
• Interact with discharge planners to gather appropriate and adequate resident information and analyze to determine if the Community can care for the resident.
• Identify potential residents whose needs can be met by the Community and manage reservations for resident accommodations.
• Understand the Community computer system and the software used in this department.
• Analyze Quality Indicator information related to admissions, discharges and resident case mix to develop and implement the marketing program.
• Refer Community and resident concerns to appropriate individuals.
